about: "rocketboom tech correspondent ellie rountree talks to bre pettis, and zach hoeken about their new company, makerbot industries (http://www.makerbot.com), building open source robot kits that allow you to do rapid prototyping and 3d printing at home." [- rocketboom]
commentary: this should have been an earth day entry but this rocketboom clip had robots & star trek in it... earl grey hot indeed! maybe if earth day had more robots i wouldn't have so much trouble remembering which day it was on. i mean it seems like just yesterday i was forgetting to celebrate last year's earth day.

Transformers built from cars will take over the parking lot
'French/Swiss artist Guillaume Reymon who created the amazing human "Pong", "Space Invaders", "Tetris", and "Pole Position" animations in large auditoriums with hundreds of people participating, has taken his craft to the streets with his latest take on "Transformers". The piece brings together many different vehicles in perfect choreography to create a giant robot when seen from above. Check out the video below to see how it was built.' [- via make magazine]

this week's w@nker wednesday award goes to askaninja.com for including ninjas, samurai and star wars in a single 2 minute vlogcast. good work ninja!
the only way to top it would have been to include robot references. i wonder who would win in a fight between a ninja and a robot? hmmmmmmm...my guess is the world would just explode before it would let that happen. you know, the whole immovable object and irresistible force thing. bang. pop. boom. there goes the universe. d@mn dirty robots!

just another in a long line of robots that will eventually take over the world. seriously, have we learned nothing from T1, T2, T3, IRobot, Tron, Westworld, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and MechaGodzilla? when will these humans learn!!!!

p.s. just add this to the long list of things that will be in U-Pub. worm 5 are you taking notes?

it's the end of the year and everyone has their best of 2005 lists. snore. however, when i saw this list from wired my heart was all a flutter. robots! robots! robots! top 50 robots of all time. real and imaginary. booya. just ask anyone that knows me; except my wife she's tired of hearing about it. my obsession with robots knows no bounds. so, once i saw this list i had to post my favorite 3 of the top 50:
p.s. i'm sad that johnny 5 didn't make the list. o.k. not really.
